TREVISAN ART GALLERY

MUU & Co.W

Oil paintings celebrating the cow's world

24th january - 2nd february 2025

At TREVISAN ART GALLERY the first of a series of themed exhibitions will open on Friday 24 January, which will be developed in a calendar planned for the whole of 2025. This first exhibition, entitled MUU & Co.W, will have the cow and its world as its theme. In recent years, Trevisan has created numerous paintings that have the cow as their protagonist, often capturing its "anthropic" side. In ancient texts, the cow appears as 'Kamdhenu' or divine cow, which fulfills all desires. Its horns symbolize the gods, its four legs, the ancient Hindu scriptures or the Vedas, and its udders, the four goals of life: material wealth, desire, justice and salvation. In dreams, for Freud, the cow symbolizes the fertility of the female womb, breastfeeding and the safety of the mother's breast. Jung instead sees her as an archetype of the mother in her most instinctive aspects and less inclined to change due to culture and reason For Trevisan this placid and peaceful animal that moves slowly and solemnly, is a symbol of serenity, stability and abundance, as well as welcoming and giving motherhood. In every culture, the symbol of the cow represents the breastfeeding mother and every feminine principle. A tribute that Trevisan pays to this wonderful and tame animal. With this first exhibition on the theme of the cow, a cycle of exhibitions is inaugurated, each having a specific topic that the artist has developed simultaneously in these years of activity: the sea, still lifes, love, zebras, horses, religion, trees, etc.
